Als gerenommeerd muzikant met een uitgebreid repertoire aan creatieve basklanken is hij te horen als solo-artiest en studiobassist, maar ook als veelgevraagd sideman die heeft gespeeld met gerenommeerde bands en artiesten als Jazz Against The Machine, de beroemde Caribische klassieke zangeres Tania Kross, The Flames en pop- en R&amp;B-zangeres Cassandra Steen. In 2004 werd Philipp door BassProfessor gekroond tot Duitslands Superbasser, voordat hij internationaal naam maakte. In 2021 sierde hij de cover van het in de VS gevestigde Bass Musician Magazine en het Franse Bassiste Magazine bejubelde zijn album &#8216;The Philbum&#8217; als een &#8216;meesterwerk in de league van de groten&#8217;, dat door het Duitstalige tijdschrift Sticks al was uitgeroepen tot &#8216;Album van de Maand&#8217;. eSamen met de uitmuntende drummer Ralf Gustke runt Philipp al een aantal jaren een opwindend bas- &amp; drumduo, dat bekend staat om zijn innovatieve avant-gardistische aanpak en dat heeft opgetreden op verschillende spraakmakende festivals. Philipp timmert al geruime tijd aan de weg met zijn Bass Matrix-avontuur, hij geeft workshops en les aan de muziekuniversiteit van
