As a renowned musician with a vast repertoire of creative bass sounds, he can be heard both as a solo artist and studio bassist, as well as a sought-after sideman who has played with renowned bands and artists such as Jazz Against The Machine, the renowned Caribbean classical singer Tania Kross, The Flames, and pop and R&amp;B singer Cassandra Steen. In 2004, Philipp was crowned Germany&#8217;s Superbasser by BassProfessor, before making a name for himself internationally. In 2021, he graced the cover of the US-based Bass Musician Magazine, and the French Bassiste Magazine hailed his album &#8216;The Philbum&#8217; as a &#8216;masterpiece in the league of the greats,&#8217; which the German-language magazine Sticks had already featured as &#8216;Album of the Month.&#8217; Together with the outstanding drummer Ralf Gustke, Philipp has been running an exciting bass &amp; drum duo for several years, known for its innovative avant-garde approach, which has performed at several high-profile festivals.
